It all started on December 28, 1922, when Stanley Martin Leiber was born in his apartment building on the corner of West 98th Street to Jack and Celia Lieber, who were Jewish immigrants from Romania.
Oh my gosh, that fly gave me an amazing idea for a new hero!
Due to his family living through the great depression, Stanley had to work at an early age. After some time of him working smaller tasks, he got a job at Timely Comics and became the editor there.
Eventually, Stan served in World War 2. After some time of fighting for his country, he returned to Timely Comics, which he would later name Marvel Comics.
After some time back from the war, in the 1960's, Stan had an amazing idea for a new hero just by looking at a fly on the wall, he thought of a hero who could stick to walls like a fly. This certain hero might sound familiar to you: Spider Man. Alongside with that was many other heroes such as Iron man and The Incredible Hulk.
He would also get married to his loving wife, Joan Boocock Lee. The two would spend 70 years married very happily, but unfortunately, in 2017 she died due to a stroke, and left Stan a widower.
Yep, this is good.
