Eventually I'll get it! I just have to keep at it.
I learn by interaction. If someone *shows* me a thing and walks me through each step, I'm 1000x more likely to enjoy or appreciate that thing.
I like to be taught by people. Moreso if it's people I know.
Being pushed into something and told to figure it out can be overwhelming for me, but I'm getting better at it, slowly
If I have someone with me while I'm doing things, it's much better for me. I'm not alone, not overwhelmed, and more confident.
Here's 10 things you can do for a slow learning Peter:
1. Tell me I'm doing ok. 2. Be patient with me. I probably won't understand the way you do. 3. Try to see things from my level. 4. Repeat things you think I'm not understanding. 5. Be nice to me. Sometimes concepts that come easy for you are hard for me. 6. If I'm frustrated at something, I probably want to understand more. 7. If I'm doing a good job, tell me! But also tell me why/how I've done a good job. 8. If I'm failing repeatedly, go over the concept again. Maybe I don't get it yet. 9. It's not a slight at me if you're trying to help. I won't be mad. It's something I need. 10. Try not to jump ahead without me. BONUS: Tell me you love me.
