Koong-se spent most of her days outside and listening to herb bird in a bamboo cage. She had a servant , who watched over with a smile. One day a man called Chang came over to the house. He was a poet and the moment he saw Koong-te, he fell in love. They would talk to each other during the night without T'so Lin knowing.
One day, whistle they were reading poetry, T'so Lin burst in. He was very angry. Chan rushed out and one of the servents were banished from the household. T'so Lin said to his daughter " it is time for you to have a husband."so T'so made arrangements to marry a wealthy man. his name was Ta-Jin. He was a very cold and bossy man.
the next day she was sitting by the river and a coconut shell was in the river. what a funny little boat! she grabbed it and noticed that there was a little letter inside. it said "Your beauty is as bright as a star, still, i worship from afar." When her new servant wasnt looking, she wrote down a letter of her own. "Help! i am to marry Ta-Jin when the peach trees bloom!" and sent it down the river.
The day of the wedding was near, and presents arrived from lands. but they brought no happinnes for Koong-se. she had not herd back from chang, and soon she would be married to someone she hated.Koong-se felt like she was trapped, and she could not escape. The Ta-Jin presented some jewels, and she smiled weakly but when he was gone, tears slid down her face. On the eve of the wedding, there was a feast and party, but Koong-se just stayed in her room and wept
into the garden came an unusual guest, his face was covered, and he was heading for Koong-ses room. " You came!' cried Koong-se. ' i would never let you marry him!' said Chang. 'Oh Chang, lets get away!'
