For ten long years, the war had raged between the Greeks and the Trojans. The Greeks tried and tried. The Trojans were always victorious and even captured princess Helena of Greece.
The Greeks were very annoyed. The Trojans had take their princess and also had beaten them. As the Greeks tried to find out a way to get even with the Trojans, they decided that the best way to beat them was to use their brains. The Greeks came up with an idea: a wooden horse.
The plan was to load the soldiers inside and mount an attack on the baffled Trojans who would fall for a peace offering from the Greeks. The next day, the Trojans were astonished to see not a single Greek left on the island. All that was left was a large wooden horse. The people checked the horse and saw a letter that stated a treaty. They took the horse in the city.
After the Trojans had been partying late into the night, they went to sleep. At that moment, the soldiers jumped out of the horse. They went round the castle and found the princess.
The soldiers found the princess and rescued her. But the Greeks were not finished with the Trojans. they killed everyone they saw in their sight. They then went back happy and content with finally beating the Trojans once and for all.
In the end of the day, the Trojans were beaten by their themselves. They were arrogent and so full of themselves that they misunderstood the Greeks.
