Storyboard Text

  • Alright class, today we will be talking about IP Addresses.
  • There are two different kinds of IP Addresses: Static, and Dynamic
  • What is the difference between the two? What does Static and Dynamic mean?
  • "Static" means non-changing. When you have a Static IP Address, it always stays the same, like the address of a home.
  • Dynamic, however, means constantly changing. When you have a dynamic IP Address, the address is always changing, like when you see license plates on cars while driving
  • Static IP Addresses are useful, because they make it easier to locate devices using that IP Address
  • Dynamic IP Addresses, although they are harder to locate, are more reliable and cheaper than Static IP Addresses
