Belly was thinking, "He stopped, he leaned over and pulled me towatds him-like by gravitational force. He kissed me...I was kissing him back" (Han 261).

Conrad said "If you like Jeremiah then why are you wearing my necklace?...Go to Jeremiah. Hes the one who wants you. I don't. I never did" (Han 263 and 264).
Belly was thinking, "Conrad ignored me completely. I didn't exist to him anymore, and despite everything I'd said, that made me want to die. I never sould have come. None of us were speaking to one another. I'd lost them both" (Han 266).
Jeremiah has liked Belly for a while now even when Belly and Jeremiah brother, Conrad, have been dating. Jeremiah made his move to Belly while Conrad was finishing up his exams.
Initial Event or Dialogue
Conrad and Belly broke up during the summer. Before they broke up, Conrad gave her a necklace. She wore that necklace while kissing Jeremiah. Once Conrad finished his exams he went back to the car only to see that they were kissing. Conrad stormed out, followed behind was Belly, leaving Jeremiah in the car alone.

Belly was thinking, "Sitting at the table, studying with his forehead creased, he looked like the old Conrad. The one who cared about things like exams and ironed shirts and being on time...He hated to study; he hated grades. Learning was, had always beem, Conrad's thing" (Han 247 and 248).
After the huge argument between Belly and Conrad, they both took a walk around the school to calm down before going back to the car. Once Belly got to the car, Conrad was already there. No one talked during the car ride. It was dead silent and awkward.
Conrad said triumphantly, "I killed it" (Han 259).
Mr. Fisher was Conrad and Jeremiah father. Once Susannah died, their mother, he was planning on selling the house. The boys argued and eventually Mr Fisher made a deal with Conrad. Conrad had to finish his exams and pass it to keep the house.
Mr Fisher was saying this to Conrad, "I'll make you a deal...I want you back at school tomorrow. I want you to finish your exams. If you do that the house is yours. Yours and Jeremiah's" (Han 234).
That next morning, Belly gathered everything that they will need to study and work. She let the boys sleep while she gathered the materials. Once she was back she woke them up and the stuying began.
When Conrad finished his first exam, he felt really confident he did well. All the studying he did last night payed off that day.
Belly thinks in her head, "First time I'd seen him smile, really, really smile-joyful, carefree-since Susannah died. He and Jeremiah high-fived so hard the clap rang out in the hair. And then Conrad smiled at me, and whirled me around so fast I almost tripped" (Han 259).
