  • 1-Bill is Drafted- Members of the legislative branch come up with a bill that will change the way things are done around the country/state.
  • That's a great idea!
  • 2-Bill is introduced to Congress
  • Members of Congress are introduced to the bill.
  • That's settled then!
  • 3-Bill is referred to the appropriate committee
  • The bill is put into the committee that can properly deal with it.
  • 4-Bill is sent to a subcommittee
  • I like this bill!
  • The bill goes to the appropriate smaller-sized committee.
  • 5-Bill is sent to the full committee
  • We should vote for this in the future!
  • After the smaller group sees the bill, it goes to a larger group to be looked at.
  • 6-Bill is reported to the floor of the House or Senate
  • The sooner, the better!
  • The majority party leaders decide when to bring it up in a Congress session.
