  • Romeo shall never be allowed back in this town. He is banished. 
  • Romeo's fatal flaw in the play is impulsivity. He makes rash decisions that create troubling situations.
  • Anagnorisis-Critical Discovery
  • Juliet is dead.
  • Romeo's pride and self confidence also get him into trouble. He feels as though nothing can go wrong in his life, so he doesn't think about the consequences of his actions.
  • Nemesis-Inescapable Agent of Downfall
  • When Romeo kills Tybalt and is banished by the Prince, he has a sudden reversal of fortune. His luck has run out.
  • Catharsis-Releasing Repressed Emotions
  • Romeo's critical discovery is finding out Juliet is "dead". This causes him to eventually kill himself.
  • Romeo's agent of downfall is poison. He wants to kill himself after Juliet's death, and the poison allures him.
  • Romeo releases his repressed emotions when he finally kills himself. He has felt suicidal for a while because of his separation from Juliet.
