Storyboard Text

  • So, what can you tell me about this place and the Punic Wars?
  • Well, first off this is a historical city once roamed about by the very people who influenced the government and daily life of the people we see in the modern world today. •
  • Let me show you a very historical site in this city.
  • I don't feel that my time is spent wisely here.
  • This ship is quite special indeed, in fact, that town you just visited was built by the very people who were on this ship.
  • If you must.
  • And, what's so special about this ship that I had to walk down here myself to see.
  • The first Punic War took place on sea, using ships much like this one, which is surprisingly well preserved to this day.
  • Well I have another couple sites to show you.
  • I heard that the Carthage people were very close to the Romans, right, the war you mentioned how did it start?
  • Yes, the Romans and Carthaginians started out very close to the Romans. However Cato will eventually help start the wars because he warned the Romans that the Carthaginians had to be destroyed. This will start a long dispute between the two countries.
  • This site, was the land Hannibal had to cross to get his troops in position. Not a smart move, as history will show.
  • I like the few from here. It's very nice.
  • I'm glad you like it.
