Storyboard Text

  • "They say that Creon has sworn No one shall burry him, no one mourn for him." (19-20)
  • "Ismene, I am going to bury him. Will you come?" (31)
  • "Bury him! You have just said the new law forbids it." (32)
  • "Well, then;The dead man–––Polyneices––out there––someone, ––new dust on the slimy flesh! Someone has given it burial that way, and Gone …" (199-210)
  • Antigone is explaining to her sister that her brother is not allowed to be buried under the law that has been put in place.
  • "This girl is guilty of a double insolence,Breaking the given laws and boasting of it." (380-381)
  • Antigone has made a decision to bury her brother even though it is against the law and wants to know if her sister will help with the burial. 
  •  "We saw her lying: She had made a noose of her fine linen veil and hanged herself." (958-960)
  • The Sentry is explaining to Creon that someone has buried Polyneices and they do not know who did the act.
  • "It troubles me, too; yet she knows what is best." (978)
  • "She has left us without a word. What can this mean?" (977)
  • Creon says that Antigone is guilty of breaking the law by burying her brother and puts her in isolation.
  • The messenger is explaining to Creon that Antigone has killed herself and how everyone else has died. 
  • The people who know her are saying that with Antigone's death, she is making a statement to everyone else.
