- High-quality coal was discovered in 1886, which quickly became the Roslyn Coal Field. Two towns, called Roslyn and Cle Elum, sprang up due to the coal industry. But now it's time for agriculture!
- Now this here's an old farming site in the Walla Walla Valley. Farmers grew hops and wheat. Both Native Americans and white men worked on the farms, and so did Hispanics and Chinese people. Now to the orchards!
- And here is an apple orchard! Washington's apples became one of their most important crops, which they grew in the Yakima, Wenatchee, and Okanogan Valleys due to irrigation projects. Cattle men did have to move to the Cascades after losing land rights. But that concludes the tour!
