Ferrous, Ferrous, an iron will If he won't get out, nobody will
A boy woke up in complete darkness, not knowing who he was or where he was.
He meets a tween named Flint and a sarcastic teenager named Karma. They explain where he is and what will happen to him: he is in a world called Bygone where he will have to defeat his evil doppelganger (called a Forgery) to escape.
They find an prophecy inscribed on a cave wall, about a man named Ferrous who must escape Bygone, or nobody will. The anonymous boy claims his memory came back and HE is Ferrous. Karma is incredulous, but Flint is willing to help.
Karma takes them to an outpost to meet her friend Terra who she hopes will be able to verify the boy's claim. Terra uses a Heart-stone, a magical device that conveys a person's heart to everyone in the room. They find that the boy is telling the truth: he is Ferrous.
Ferrous went around saving people from monsters and slaying demons. He became known throughout the land as a competent warrior and a hero. However, his Forgery tracked him down and arrived at a nearby outpost. Ferrous was not prepared to fight his Forgery, who had began slaughtering the nearby villages to gain Ferrous' attention.
In the end, Ferrous was forced to confront his Forgery, to save the people he would undoubtedly attempt to kill next. Ferrous had met his match. The Forgery had his same thought process and skills: it was very difficult to fight someone who knew his every move. Karma had followed him to protect him, but ended up dying. Ferrous, fueled by anger, slew his Forgery. He was transported back home, which showed all the people in Bygone that escape was possible.
