Fever, 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson Theme Project
What does theme mean?
Theme is what the author thinks about the story.
The first theme that we will be discussing is survival. Here is the London 2012 Olympics official song called "survival" by Muse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1Jfk8j63a0
Survival in Fever is present when many people fled to the country side when yellow fever struck Philadelphia. The thieves that killed Matilda'a grandfather were also showing survival because they were trying to steal money and thieves before that stole their food.
The second theme that we will be discussing is love.
Love in Fever is present when the fever struck Philadelphia. Many people lost their loved ones due to the horrid symptoms of yellow fever. Matilda also showed love when the thieves beat her grandfather to death. She loved her grandfather very much.
