The Importance of Being Earnest
To-morrow, Lane, I'm going Bunburying.
You're my little cousin Cecily, I'm sure.
Dramatic Irony: When the audience is more aware of what is happening than the characters.
You, I see from your card, are Uncle Jack's brother, my cousin Ernest, my wicked cousin Ernest.
The audience knows that Ernest is not Algernon's name and he's not Jack's brother, but Cecily doesn't know that.
Your brother Ernest. He arrived about half an hour ago.
What nonsense! I haven't got a brother.
