I screamed as Bubblegum Teacup fell to the floor, roughly scraping her head against the stable door. The wood slowly turned a dark red as my beloved horse bled from her side, the blood leaking through her glossy white and black coat and swallowing her shining armor. The King was standing next to her, holding a bloodied knife. The truth hit me quickly, it was a simple conclusion. King Cabbage had murdered my horse.
"Bubblegum!" I shrieked. I could feel the tears sliding down my face as a cry formed in my throat.
“Your horse always had such a silly name,” Cabbage scoffed. I turned to him. I hated this man. I had hated him before, but that hate hadn’t come full steam since that day many years ago… The day I began to hate him. Now he was kindling a fire of rage inside of me that couldn’t be stopped. And that flame was going to bring him down.
“YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME!” I cried. “NOW YOU TAKE MY HORSE TOO?!” I staggered with grief. “YOU MONSTER!”
Emotion swept me away as I crumpled to my knees beside Bubblegum Teacup, taking a few deep breaths before I burst into more tears. She was my best friend when no one else was there…. She had always been there….. I sniffled as the metallic smell of blood filled the air. A new wave of tears overtook me. It was happening all over again. I tried to take deeper breaths, tried not to give in to the man standing before me, ready to kill me with just one swipe of his knife.
Suddenly his low voice reverberated around the stable, "You have been trying to capture me for a long time, Kitty, but now it's time that I end this," Cabbage raised his knife, crimson blood still dripping from it, a vicious look flashed upon his face, but it was immediately replaced with a sneer. “You still hold me responsible for the deaths of-”
“YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!” I shouted, my eyes still stinging with tears, I struggled to stand up, to not let Cabbage win. "You want it that way?" I asked. "Well then, come at me," Finally forcing myself to stand tall, I wiped my tears away. I heard scuffing behind me, and suddenly there were two dark figures standing on either side of me. They stood, facing Cabbage. I knew the rest would be coming too, but I wanted to finish this before Cabbage could call for his army.
"You two," Cabbage sneered. He stepped forward, still holding the knife raised. His eyes darted back between the three of us. I could see perspiration forming on his forehead and his arm shaking just the tiniest bit. I smirked. He was worried, he hadn’t known I had allies with me, but I was only comforted for a second, as anger slowly began to boil inside me, until it was nearly bursting out of me.
“Everyone thinks you're this perfect person,” I yelled harshly. I didn’t care anymore. Like he said, it was time to end this, “but you’d do this!” I gestured to Bubblegum Teacup, holding back tears.
“You shouldn’t rule! You’re arrogant, corrupt, and vicious! I pity anyone who has had to serve you because you treat them like dogs!” I shouted. I wanted the world to realize how wicked this man was. He had no right to rule the land.
“Now everyone will see your true nature!” I raised my voice even more. I glanced toward the security camera I had installed so long ago. It had never been something we thought would be pivotal to bringing down Cabbage, but if we survived this, it might be.
“Well they won’t,” Cabbage scoffed, “because you and your little organization are going down, and then you’ll all be dead,” Cabbage spat. Then he darted closer to us, only, undoubtedly, to scare us.
“You’re a coward,” I sneered, “and you’re going to lose.”
Cabbage snickered, but he didn’t know. He didn’t know I was prepared this time. We were prepared. Prepared to fight. Fight and win.
