  • Rainsford is laying down in his bed when he suddenly hears gunshots in the distance.  He gets out of his bed, and walks out to the balcony of the Yacht.  He lights his pipe and tries to stand on the rail to get a better look of the woods and drops his pipe and tries to grab it and falls into the water.
  • Climax
  • Rainsford travels through the woods, looking for what made the gunshots.  He finds an animal rolling around on the ground, clearly injured, and finds 22 shells laying near the scene.  He continues to travel and finds a massive mansion in the woods.
  • Falling Action
  • A man opens the door with a gun in hand, and it's aiming right at Rainsford's Heart.  Rainsford tells him who he is and that he is no threat, and the man calls to someone, and a man walks up to the door.  This man is General Zaroff, he welcomes Rainsford in to eat dinner and drink a little and talk about hunting.
  • Resolution
  • Rainsford is talking to General Zaroff about the animals he hunts.  The General tells him that he got bored of hunting other animals, so, he hunted more intelligent ones.  And he Tells Rainsford that he hunts humans instead.
  • Rainsford starts to question Zaroff and tell him that hunting humans is not good.  Rainsford then says that he shall leave immediately and not go hunting with him.  The General then tells him some rules to his game, and when he will let him go.  He lets him run into the woods, and hours later, Zaroff will hunt him down while Rainsford only has a hunting knife.
  • Once the hunt began, Rainsford was messed around with by the General.  He let him go so he could hunt him once more, and he continued to do this.  Rainsford played smart and set some good traps and ended up escaping him.  Rainsford then snuck back into Zaroff's house and came back to fight, whoever wins, got to sleep in the bed, the loser, had to be fed to the dogs outside.  Rainsford enjoyed his wonderful sleep that night.
