Jamestown Period: 7 Name: Tyler Southard
John Rolfe had brought tobacco seeds from who knows and made a plantation filled with these cash crops and exported them
Gentlemen didn't want to do any work so they gave the Patawomeck indians guns to hunt with so not only did the gentlemen not work they got furs from the indians too
In the swamps where Jamestown was located there were many mosquitoes and fertile soil
King James 1 had sent men on a voyage to what they had called the Jamestown settlement so cross seas the colonists had made political decisions without the kings ruling because he was in England
It was surprising Jamestown was eventually a success because they had lots of droughts and they caused lots of disease by drinking the brackish water which was filled with their own human waste which had killed almost every settler there due to lack of medicines and supplies
