  • An anchor text should be used so students can independently use the skill they learned in the mini lesson.

  • Graphic organizers can be a great resource to hold a students thinking as they read. Graphic Organizers will also help students remain engaged in their reading!
  • Inferences
  • It is now independent reading time, as you're reading fill out your inference chart. 
  • This is a great time to hep students 1:1 or as small groups. 
  • Let me help you uncover your confusion. 
  •  The reading response should target the skill the students learned, it should facilitate and enhance reading and  comprehension. It should also take around five minutes. 
  • After your reading, please complete your reading response.
