  • Scientific Notation
  • Scientific notations are commonly used as replacers for very big numbers, this is done in order to make the usage of big numbers easier.
  • 9,972,778
  • 9.972778 x10 ^6
  • 2,190,978
  • One example of a number that you woul want to make simpler is 2,190,978. Before making this into a scientific notation you have to consider that in scientific notation numbers cant be smaller than 1 or bigger than 10.
  • 2.190978
  • To convert this number you have to move the decimal to the left for the number to be smaller than 10 but bigger than 1. This would give us 2.190978
  • After you have this number you have to add (x 10) and then the number of times you moved it to the left as a power.
  • 2.190978 x10 ^6
  • ANSWER
  • Now that you know how to do this go out and try it by yourself!
