Storyboard Text

  • OUT, MUBARAK, OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hosni Mubarak reigns over Egypt for nearly 30 years. However, on January 25, 2011, the people have had enough. Protests erupt across the country against Mubarak.
  • After a while, even the military decides to side with the protesters against Mubarak.
  • I've heard your pleas, and I have decided to step down from power.
  • Backed into a corner, Mubarak is pressured to step down from power.
  • Elections are held to elect a democratic president. Mohammed Morsi from the Muslim Brotherhood is elected President by the people.
  • Fearing the loss of power, the military dissolves the Parliament, which was nearly 70% from the Muslim Brotherhood
  • I'd like to thank all the people who supported me to win the Presidency.
  • Soon after, Morsi makes the worst mistake he could have made...
  • I need to place myself ABOVE the Constitution.
  • I need to ensure I keep my power.
  • This causes a new round of protests, this time against Morsi.
  • The military goes and places Morsi under arrest, plunging Egypt into an interim government again, under General Al-Sisi.
  • President Morsi, you are under arrest.
  • A familiar scene returns to Egypt, as the military sides with the protesters once again.
  • Another election is held in Egypt, this time electing General Al-Sisi as President.
  • I thank you for the votes and I swear I will serve for you.
  • This sets up the path for the future, with Al-Sisi as President and the military still in power.
