Storyboard Text

  • France is sure to win with all of us Native Americans on their side
  • The French and Indian War, 1754-1763
  • Those redcoats want to take our valuable land?
  • William Pitt is a money-filled life saver!
  • We should boycott British goods!
  • Stamp Act Congress 1765
  • Great, 9 of the 13 colonies have sent representatives
  • This Stamp Act needs to be repealed!
  • I believe we need someone in the parliament for the colonists
  • Boston Massacre 1770
  • OW
  • You colonists, you assaulted us, so we got confused.
  • My child!
  • These bloody redcoats, look what they have done now
  • Paul Revere must learn about this!
  • The French and Indian war is significant, because this event led to the colonists being taxed (due to Britain's debt), and because of the taxation without representation, they started a revolution.
  • Intolerable acts 1774
  • This could be a real problem if the Boston Harbor doesn't open up
  • The British aren't even allowing meetings in Boston, so we can't explain why we held the Tea Party.
  • We are absolutely helpless
  • Yeah, the other colonies are starting to blame us, because their trade is getting affected too.
  • They don't realize that King George III, is never going to open this!
  • This event was significant because  the stamp act congress was the first time the colonies rallied together, in the interests of all.
  • Second continental congress- May 1775
  • Loyal British Subjects of the crown.
  • George Washington is in the lead for building the militia.
  • Hey honey, have you heard about Common Sense by Thomas Paine, and how he finally tells everyone that monarchy is a bad form of government?
  • This was the first big bloodshed in the revolution, and the first chance the colonists had for propaganda to get a mutual agreement against that the colonists were going to have to fight against the British.
  • Common sense by Thomas Paine- January 1776
  • Of course, everyone is town has a copy of the 47 page pamphlet!
  • The colonies are all outraged, and are in a way, forced into acting because they're so controlled, which creates a chance to start an idea of rebelling in all the colonies.
  • Ahh, the Olive Branch Petition for the Loyalists
  •  The colonists now have an army to intimidate Britain with, and are not completely defenseless, meaning they really are determined to start a revolution.
  • Permission has been granted to build a militia!
  • This pamphlet is significant because it gets a lot of public support, meaning that people agreed, and this could most likely have been the last spark for a full blown revolution to begin.
