To show absolute value, just put the number in a jail cell. Remember this, and you will do very well.
For example, |-10| plus 10 equals twenty. More examples? I can give you plenty.
1 plus |-1| equals two, and with these examples we are through.
Yes, but why does this work?
If you have a negative number and "put it in a jail cell," then you show how far away it is from zero. |-10| is ten away from zero so |-10| plus 10 is equal to 10 plus 10.
