  • I want him to be king!
  • Your son, Siddartha, will be a spiritual leader or a very powerful king!
  • All of the poor, sick, and peasants move out of the way for the man!!
  • what is my life?!
  • Siddartha's father, the king of Nepal, had someone see his son's future which was he was going to be a spiritual leader or a very powerful ming. Siddartha's father raised him to be a king.
  • Wealthy and healthy --> guru and religious
  • I am finding the truth, through meditation.
  • The king had guards go with Siddartha to town and everywhere so Siddartha wouldn't see the misery and darkness of the world.
  • before and after 49 days
  • One day Siddartha left the kingdom with no guards, he saw the darkness and sadness in the world and said, "It drained the joy out of my body".
  • The truth of life is...
  • Siddartha went from wealth to wearing a robe, with little food, and sleeping in a tree or cave.  He joined the gurus and learned the truth and cycle of life.
  • Siddartha meditated for 49 days to learn the truth about the world. He finally understood the cycle of life and had reached enlightenment.
  • He hasn't moved once.
  • Siddartha then became the Buddha and spent the next 45 years traveling around India teaching about life. He then died at age 80, but had escaped from the cycle of life.
