Yes! Now everyonewill be able to findtruth in the Bible!
That should beenough copies fornow.
Only the pope can have power overthe people!
No! Kings and queens should ruleover Europe!
Why is thishappening?
One of Luther's friends was Prince Frederick of Saxony. He staged Luther's kid-napping and agreed to hide him in Wartburg Castle. While there, Luther began translating the New Testament into German, the vernacular language, for access-ibility..
Around the same time, Luther was excommunicated by Pope Leo X by means of a papal bull. He eventually married Katherine von Bora and had six children. Then, after the completion of the translation, he had copies of what was called The Luther Bible printed.
Now, not only the rich had access to the bible. People started justifying various actions using the Bible. The Peasant War is an example of this. Over time, power struggles started between the church and royalty. This eventually caused The Great Schism, a splitting of the Catholic church into the Catholic and Protestant churches. Luther died on February 18, 1546. His accomplishments have impacted religion greatly.
