- The First Nations need a pass from an Indian Agent to leave their reserve. If they leave for a certain period of time they could lose their Indian Status. This was one way that the government led the First Nations into enfranchisement.

- On the reserves First Nations are forbidden to speak their native language...

- The First Nations also need government permission to wear their cultural clothing...
- i'm pretty sure this goes against our Charter Rights
- First nations are forbidden from practicing their religion and cultural ceremonies on the reserves.
- Indian Agents give the Indigenous babies European names to isolate them from their First Nations Identity
- All these policies are a way that the government assimilates the First Nation's culture. They go against multiple sections of the Canadian Charter especially section 25.
