  • Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1643 in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. However, his dad Isaac died 3 months before he was born and his mother left him when he was 3 years old, leaving him to live with his maternal grandmother.
  • You poor child Isaac Newton. Your father Isaac has died and your mother Hannah has left you as you are tiny and weak. I guess I as your maternal grandmother will take care of you.

  • Between 1665 and 1667, according to a myth, when Newton saw an apple fall from an apple tree, he wondered why it fell straight downwards but not in an angle.
  • Hey, how come this apple fell downwards, but not upwards?
  • In 1687, Newton published the Principia , which contains the three basic laws of motion. This book is said to be the most influential book in all of physics and possibly in all of science.

  • In 1705, Newton receives the highest honor of the land and become the first British scientist to be knighted. He is knighted by Queen Anne. He is now known as "Sir" Isaac Newton.

  • Sir Isaac Newton died at the age 84 on March 31, 1727 from digestion problems. However, his principals of gravity and other ideas still live on today in the scientific world.
