The Black Lives Matter movement was founded by Alicia Garza, Parisse Cullors and Opal Tometi. It is a human rights movement that advocates against violence and systemic racism. Also to shed light on police brutality.
On Nov. 15 2015, Jamar Clark an unarmed black 24 year old was shot, supposedly while hand cuffed. He was being arrested for interfering with the paramedics attending to his girl friend. Days later a protest was held infornt of the Forth Precinct police
The Jamar Clark protest was held for 18 days. The people were demanding dash and body camera recordings. This was because the surrounding witness reports and the police department statements contredicted eachother.
On Nov.23 a group of four men entered the protest three were wearing masks. They were chased out of the protest after calling the protests "n-words". Two of the four men opened fire into the crowd, only injuring 5 men. (no fatalities)

Protesters had camped outside of the Fourth Precinct for 18 days. At 4am on Dec. 3 police gave the protesters ten minutes to evacuate. Most of them did. The eight people who stayed were arrested.
On March 30, 2016, Freeman announced that no charges would be filed against Ringgenberg and Schwarze, the two officers involved in the Jamar Clark shooting.
