  • Solar energy from the sun heats up the water and turns it into water vapor, this is called Evaporation
  • Water vapor also comes from plants, due to Transpiration. The excess water is let out through the leaves of the plants in the form of vapor
  • The water vapor once in the air begins to cool down and attach itself to particles in the air, forming clouds, this is called Condensation
  • Excess water forms Runoff
  • When the water in the clouds gets too heavy, gravity pulls them back down to the earth in the form of rain, snow, sleet or hail, this is called Precipitation
