The Beginning of Trouble
Here Comes the Trouble
As Time Passed...
The Mississippians noticed men with pale skin entering their area. They all ran to the people, some dropping the crops they harvested. The chief approached the leader of the men, Hernando de Soto. Later, both sides were not going to be friends.
Just like other explorers, De Soto came to the New World for one of the 3 G's. He was in the search for gold. He came into Georgia and killed many natives with diseases they had brought over. As a result, the Mississippian culture ended.
Later on, the English lived along the Atlantic coast of the United States. In the beginning, the English suffered badly, but they made progress. By planting a specific crop, tobacco, the colony was saved. Due to colonization, however, Georgia became a buffer colony.
