In this scene, Odysseus's men want to take the goods they got and leave. However, Odysseus tells them that they are going to stay. He stays because he wants to see the cave man.
"Why not take these cheese's, get them stowed, come back, throw open all the pens, and make a run for it?"
"Ah, how sound that was! Yet I refused."
"My name is Nohbdy: my mother, father, and friends. Everyone calls me Nohbdy."
In this scene, Odysseus tries to have a conversation with the cyclops and he offers him cheese and wine. After initiating a conversation, Odysseus stabs the cyclops in the eye. In an attempt to keep his eye in place, the cyclops removes the spike.
"Nohbdy, Nohbdy's tricked me, Nohbdy's ruined me!"
In this scene, Odysseus has to find somewhere to hide from the cyclops. He then chooses to hide under a sheep's belly. Cyclops doesn't see him and he begins to talk to the sheep.
"Sweet cousin ram, why lag behind the rest in the night cave?"
"I took the wooliest ram, the choicest of the flock, and hung myself under his kinky belly."
