Storyboard Text

  •
  • An introduction to the gas laws and the science behind weather
  • Hi I'm Charles the dragon. I'm here to tell you about some cool chemistry terms you need to know
  • So, what exactly ARE the gas laws?
  • They are a series of laws that describe the behavior of samples of gasses under varying conditions
  • the combined gas law describes the relationship between temperature, volume, and pressure of a gas sample
  • another law we need to know is Charles' Law. This law relates the temperature of a gas to its volume.
  • Gay Lussac's law states that there is a relationship between the temperature of a gas and its pressure
  • some basic properties of gasses are:
  • STP means: standard temperature and pressue
  • they have a mass and a volume, they compress easily, they diffuse, they expand to fill their containers, and that they exert pressure.
  • Relate temperature and pressure are directly proportional
  • Boyle's law describes the relationship between pressure of a gas sample and its volume
  • Relate temperature and volume are directly proportional
