Hello, my name is Brasch. I am 21 and I am from Germany.
Me, along with many other people have traveled to America in for religious freedom.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1807)
My parents would not come along and insisted I go by myself. My mother said that America offered many employment opportunities, Unlike Germany and it's crippling economy.
My parent's friends already took the long voyage here and were kind enough to let me stay with them.
Luckily, I was able to get a job right away. It does not pay well, but thanks to all of the valleys and hills in Pennsylvania, I can work on a farm too. To acquire a little more money.
Even though I was a little frightened at first, coming to America was a very good idea. Lots of Germans like me are starting to pick up on it because more and more get dropped off every day. I wonder how my parents are doing. Maybe they're worried, maybe they're just happy that they can finally have a break from me. Haha, I just want them to know I am not afraid and this place has a lot to offer.
