We need to let the government know that us non-whites will not continue to be treated unfairly
Stage 2: Protesting
We want equal rights for all races!
1910 is when South Africa was created from two British and two Boer territories. Whites were the dominate race, they were connected to Great Britain only in foreign affairs. Although, they ran the country how they wanted to, Great Britain did not show authority.
Stage 3: Revolution
The apartheid laws were very unfair to people who weren't white. The ANC was created to oppose white domination. The ANC was led by Nelson Mandela. The ANC planned events to show how angry they were about these unfair laws.
Stage 4: Recovery
People in Sharpsville by ANC's command protested the apartheid laws. By doing so 69 people were killed and later 575 people were killed during protests, most of them were black.
The PAC and ANC commanded military branches to enforce violence on government targets. For the governmet to stop the attacks, they stated a national state of emergency. The government had the right to imprison people without charging them.
The Botha government took away some of the apartheid laws. A new constitution is signed upon and the ANC and PAC no longer banned. Nelson Mandela is finally released from prison in 1990 and later becomes president in 1994.
