In the summer, both Cassie and Lia went to a camp. the two girls started a competition to see who could be the skinniest.
"I'm not playing, overbrook. I really need to talk to you. Call me. please, please call me. "
MOTEL ROOM #5
Even tho Cassie has passed away, Lias mind set on staying skinny is still the same. Lia still barely eats. because of Lias weight, she is supposed to be weighted every day. Not only does Lia hate being weighed, everyone else hates it too. because of her being weighted is so hates, she gets weighed less then she is supposed to.
** Cassie calling **
because of the competition that Lia and Cassie started before she passed away, Cassie is till in the perspective of not eating or eating very little. If the girls never came up with this competition Lia would not have to be weight. Lia said herself "Everyday weighing became ever-other-say weighing became every-tuesday weighing because none of us wanted to do it in the first place.”
Cassie needs to talk to Lia immediately. Some thing is on her mind that she needs to get off. She calls Lia, but she is not answering.
Lia sees that Cassie is trying to call her and sees the voicemail's, but she is too mad to even look at the phone so she does not answer. Lia notices the 33 missed calls. She listened to the voice mails and reads the messages but puts her phone away and forgets about it.
Lia saw on the news that they have found a dead body alone in a motel room. She realized that all because she ignored Cassie, Cassie has committed suicide. If Lia were to just answer Cassie, she would've been able to help her and talk her out of it.
"We didn't want you hearing it at school or on the news."
