David and Goliath
By qasimli, Updated
There was a war in the land of Israel. The Israelites were fighting the Philistine. One of them was a giant. Everyone was scared of him. Each day Goliath would shout to the Israelites and tell them to find a man that is brave enough to fight him.
Find a man that is brave enough to fight me!
But since he was tall and strong everyone was scared of him. No one wanted to fight him.
No one stands a chance against him.
David's brothers were part of the Israelite army. Jesse (David's Father) sent David to deliver food to them.
As he got closer David he saw Goliath and saw that everyone was afraid of him.
Is anyone going to fight me?
David told the Israelite army that he would fight Goliath. His brothers disagreed and said he should be taking care of the sheep.
Shouldn't you tend the sheep?
Goliath saw that David was young and weak so he taunted him. David said that God will help him win. Goliath came at David but David put a stone in the sling and threw the stone. When the Philistines see David kill Goliath they were afraid and ran away. God had helped David win!
