Arachne was known for her amazing sewing. Even though, she reffered herself to a god often.

An old lady confronted Arachne and Arachne called her a stupid old lady.
Hush, stupid old lady!
The lady turned out as Athena, and they had a sewing competition
Athena got offended by her design, and ripped her work into pieces, and Arachne attempted to hang herself.
Athena turned her into a spider. Arachne's act of hubris was, she compared herself to the gods and goddesses.
