Karimas phone lights up and she quickly picks it up, while looking at her mother to make sure she didn't see. Karima sneakily starts texting Carter back underneath the dinner table so her mother doesn't notice. As she is texting back she keeps looking up at her mother.
SCENE 16 - AM
Carter knocks on Karimas front door. Karima opens the door and they both make their way to Carters car where he holds the door open for her to get in, then drive off.
SCENE 17 - AM
Carter and Karima walk into a takeaway shop, where Carter buys fish and chips
SCENE 18 - PM
Carter jumps out of the car. He rapidly walks to the boot of the car as if he's on a mission and flicks it up with one hand. Karima joins him in taking their bags out the boot. Karima carries the bag of food to the beach alongside Carter with another bag.
Carter slides his jandals off and wriggles his toes in the sand. He drops everything he's carrying down, stretches his arms wide and looks up at the sun with his eyes shut. Karima lays the beach mat on the sand, they both get on and sit down with their legs stretched out, leaning back.
Carter and Karima hop off the mat and begin walking. They get to the road and stop to cross. Carter sees an opportunity to cross when there are fewer cars driving. Carter grabs Karimas hand and drags her across the road as he runs across the road in front of her. When they get to the other side of the road they stop to catch their breaths then continue to walking.
