  • The students of the school are introduced to the Most Magnificent Thing project.  Students then are read the book the Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires. This book highlights the difficulties that can come along with creating something unique.

  • Students then are told they will us a box, to create something they think is magnificent. Teachers then role model critical thinking skills as they analyze the different attributes of a box. During this time teachers are using specific language regarding different aspects of the box.

  • The teacher then reviews critical thinking for the students. The students then create a list of the different aspects each of their own boxes has from their own attempts at using their critical thinking skills. This record is completed on a sheet provided to the students. The students then draw out the attributes of their boxes, and share their findings with a peer for further feedback.
