We here by declare the purchase of Rupert's Land. The HBC has agreed to sell this land to the Canadian government and they now own this land formally used by the Metis. We will divide the land into individual lots in the British Grid method.
What about the seigneurial system?
No further questions.
This land now belongs to you, my good sir.
It was a pleasure doing business with you.
The farm is looking wonderful! We can finally make profit off the land and those Indians can't do anything about it.
I hope they don't ruin the land.
Won't the fences disturb the bison hunting?
Finally, the fences are finished! They'll keep the livestock in, and the wild out.
This is not right! The Canadians aren't treating us equally. They came in and took the land we live in for themselves. We couldn't even do anything to stop them.
How are we supposed to hunt the bison with all these fences blocking them off?
Mama, what happened to the land and all the bison? And why aren't we living like we used to?
This is our way of life now, son. Ever since the Canadian's moved in, our way of life has changed. We've adapted to their culture, and from what I can see, this is how we'll be living from now on.
