  • Cell theory is one of the basic principles of biology. The creators were German scientist Theodor Schwann, Matthias Schleiden, and Rudolph Virchow. The parts of the state that all known living things are made up of 1 or more cells. All living things come from preexisting cells through division, and that the cell is the fundamental unit of structure and function in all living organisms.

  • Eukaryotic cells contain membrane-bound organelles, including a nucleus. Eukaryotes can be single-celled or multi-celled, such as you, me, plants, fungi, and insects. Bacteria are an example of prokaryotes.Prokaryotic cells do not contain a nucleus or any other membrane-bound organelle.
