  • The girls are caught dancing in the woods around a cauldron (which a frog happens to be in).
  • Betty Paris can't wake up following Reverend Paris catching them in the woods.
  • "It were sport, uncle"
  • Abigail confronts John Proctor, a simple married farmer, about their brief affair.
  • "You'll speak nothin' of Elizabeth!"
  • "She is blackening my name in the village!"
  • Reverend Hale, a nearby town's preacher, comes to town with three books that tell how to find and properly dispose of a witch.
  • "In these books the devil stands stripped of all his brute disguises"
  • Abigail blaims Tituba for the witchcraft and Tituba begins the witch-hunt by claiming she saw names in  "a devil's book."
  • "No, no, don't hang Tituba! I tell him I don't desire to work for the him, sir"
  • With the witch-hunt officially beginning, many townsfolk fear for their safety.
  • "I saw George Jacobs with the Devil! I saw Goody Howe with the Devil!"
