Storyboard Text

  • Every morning one of Ranti's chores required her to go to the river and get a pale of water for her family. One day she happened to run into an old man that needed assistance.
  • She cleaned his body and gave him water. As a thank you the old man told Ranti to go to a magical garden just beyond the river and pick one rotten fruit and break it open.
  • Ranti did as she was told, and brought thee rotten fruit back to her room. And to her surprise, gold, silver, rubies, and riches covered every inch of her floor.
  • Bisi saw Ranti's fortune and demanded she explain how she could get rich too. Bisi ran out the door the next morning with a pitcher so she could find the old man at the river.
  • Bisi demanded too that the old man tell her how to find the riches. And he gave her the same instructions as Ranti on where to find it. However Bisi grabbed the fresh, bright fruit. And not just one, but as many as she could cary.
  • She ran home as soon as she could and went straight to her room so no one could take any of her riches. Instead of and silver, bugs, snakes and rodents of all kind flooded her room.
