Good morning, Mr. Carlson, how is Janie adjusting to classes here? We are so worried about her in this new environment. Her cerebral palsy causes her to move around slowly and the doctor believes she may have a perceptual disorder or some sort of vision impairment, is that something the school can help us test? How can we work on helping her at home?
Hi, Mrs. Grant. You have no need to worry about your daughter, she is quickly learning how to move around the school and we can accommodate Janie's visual needs in various ways. You at home can work with her on moving herself through unknown areas and giving her books with bigger fonts. As we move through the school year I can send home books with larger fonts as well for her to take home and read to you.
Oh that is a relief! Thank you so much for the advice and taking such good care of our daughter! I have some large blocks at home so we can make mazes for her and I am sure I can find large print books somewhere! We will be in touch!
