Confucianism is a religion. Today over 5 million people practice Confucianism.
I am one of 5 million people that practice Confucianism.
Confucius, creator of Confucianism taut people to respect your ancestors, to always be considerate to other people, to try to live in peace and harmony with everyone and everything, to try for balance and harmony in all things, and to avoid extremes in behavior.
Confucius also taut a principle called Jen. Jen shows the importance of showing loyalty and courtesy to other people.
We are now friends.
There are only 5 texts that contain some Confucian scriptures.
Heaven is a god.
Confucius believed that "Heaven is the author of the virtue that is in me." He meant that he saw heaven itself as a kind of god, the god or supreme being who created virtue in us, (Confucianism, paragraph 8).
This helps show how Confucianism is more than just a code of behavior. Also, over time aspects of Buddhism and Taoism have influenced Confucianism. Many people practice a combination of these religions, (Confucianism, paragraph 8).
