  • Boston Massacre
  • Sugar Act
  • Boston Tea Party
  • Get Them! Don't let them take the tea!
  • Colonists were harassing soldiers and throwing snowballs at them so the soldiers were defending themselves and shot at the colonists. 5 people died and the colonists were mad about it. The colonists blamed the soldiers for starting the fight.
  • Quartering Act
  • The King taxed all sugar on the colonies to make them pay for the war. The colonists were not happy about it because the soldiers broke into there homes to search for sugar.
  • The Stamp Act
  • I wish we could buy the cards but I can't afford them.
  • The Sons of Liberty could not stand the high taxes for the tea so they dressed up as natives and dumped the all the tea out. The king was very upset because that tea costed one million dollars. He punished them by closing the Boston Port so no ships could come.
  • The French and Indian War
  • Colonists had to house and feed British soldiers without getting money in return and the soldiers could stay as long as they wanted. The colonists were so upset and they hated soldiers.
  • Printed items, like playing cards and newspapers, were taxed. Colonists were upset because they couldn't afford to buy these anymore if they had to pay more taxes. They decided to boycott these stamped goods and refuse to buy them.
  • The french and Indian war was between the British an the French (and some natives) over territory in North America and was won by the British. The king said that the colonists could move west but then he didn't let them after war. This made the colonists so upset.
