Jesus is accused and arrested for blasphemy by the Jewish court and is then brought over to Pontius Pilate to be persecuted. He is sentenced to death by crucifixion.
Pontius Pilate brings Jesus and a murderer to a large crowd where they decide to let the murderer free and crucify Jesus. He is now pictured carrying the cross across the town while the people shout.. “crucify him!’.
Jesus is forced to carry the cross up to the hill and is punished by the roman guards. When they get to the top of the hill, the romans offer Jesus a poisoned drink, he refuses. Then the guards put Jesus on the cross, pin him to it and he finally dies three days later. In this scene you can also see that Mary attends the event and is bewildered after he dies.
Jesus’s tomb is sealed of with a huge rock by the romans. Three days later ( when Mary madeleine is mourning ) an angel suddenly appears. He tells Mary that Jesus is alive now and as surprisingly as he comes, he leaves. Mary later discovers that the rock has been moved and that Jesus is no longer in his tomb.
Mary rushes to tell the disciples about the scene And a few moments after she has gone Jesus appears to them. The disciples are all having mixed feelings about this moment but they are mainly very happy though Thomas does not believe that Jesus is alive.
Jesus and the disciples try to explain to Thomas that he is alive but he wont believe until Jesus has shown him his scars. Surprisingly, Jesus convinces Thomas by showing the wounds and says “Blessed are those who have believed but not seen”.
