- Rafa explains...
- I've always wanted to see with my own eyes the beauty of this island, and specially the abundance of wild life Mother Nature has given this place, both underwater and in the jungles. I have learnt, from personal experiences, that being in places like this with direct contact to the nature, completely forgetting about what is happening on the outside world, seizing moments and connecting with people is very important and does good for me, it changes things within me that later reflect on the way I see and do many things, most times I really feel renovated. And not only that, I've also wanted to interact with the local community here and learn more about their culture.
- Rafa's goals
- Well, in order for me to have a hand in here, I set up some goals and based my skills on ones I've been learning at school, which are to contribute and be active. By being positive, creative, responsible, open to learn new things, taking actions, experience altogether... So I think that these abilities I've developed are really going to help make this trip a good and comfortable for me and everyone!
- So tell us, what kind of skills did you learn before coming here?

- Ibu Harriett and Pak Mo were very excited to see Rafa! They asked her what she was doing in Raja Ampat and why she chose to visit there.
- Rafa also explained how since she talked to some friends who have been there and told her how empowering it is getting to know these friendly people and trying and changing for the better something they could very much use in this isolated place, is something that motivated her to go there.
- It is getting dark, and as they talk, Pak Mo got curious about what kinds of projects and contributions Rafa was going to give back to the island.
