In the middle of the 1793 summer a girl named Matilda lived in Philidelfia. She lived and worked in a coffee house with her Mother a former slave named Eliza, her Grandfather and her friend named Polly.
later Mother got sick and Grandfather and Matilda fled to the south leaving Eliza and Mother. This shocked Matilda Mother had gotten sick out of no where .
when they got to the town the pepole checked them and they kicked them off they wagon when tey found out that Grandfather was sick
while trying to find help for Grandfather, Matilda got sick and Grandfather carried her to a hospital on Brush Hill
Then at the coffee house some thieves broke in and Grandfather tryed to protect her but could not and the thieves killed Grandfather. This devistated Matilda.
I think the theme or life lesson of fever 1793 is that to get to better times in life, never give up
