Storyboard Text

  • This is the Sensorimotor stage in which the baby (ages 0-2) explores the world with reflexes and develops our schemata way of thinking. To reach the next stage, they must develop object permanence.
  • In ages 2-6/7 kids go through the pre-operational stage in which they develop language and are egocentric. They do not understand conservation which is when things that look different can be the same.
  • I don't get it, but I'm still awesome
  • In ages 6/7-11/12 (Concrete Operational) kids develop more than one viewpoint, but not abstract problem solving. They consider some outcomes and they can understand reversability.
  • In ages 11/12-forward people go through the formal operational stage in which they can reason abstractly and theoretically instead of using trial and error techniques. Not all reach this stage.
