Job was a rich guy who lived in Uz, who had a big family, lots of animals, and who did his best to do no evil.
One day, Satan came to God and asked to be allowed to test Job, because he thought that Job was only good because God had given him so much. He thought Job would turn against God if he lost everything.
God allows this testing, and in one day, Job loses his herds, servants, and ten chi various causes. Job still doesn't turn from God. Satan asks for one more chance - which is granted - and gives Job horrible sores all over his body. Even Job's wife tells him to curse God, but he refuses.
Three of Job's friends come, each offering their own advice for his plight. All three insist that Job must have committed great evil in order to be punished so severely. Eventually, Job does get angry - with them, not God - and he realizes that he doesn't understand himself, God, or their relationship. But one thing he is certain of: the path to wisdom can only be found by fearing God and living righteously.
Finally, God appears to Job, and talks to him about Creation and his unlimited power. Job admits to being too small and limited by his human condition to be able to understand. God likes his answer.
God wants to punish Job's friends for their bad advice, but Job intervenes for them. God returns Job's health, gives him twice as much properties, many more children and a very long life. THE END
